Youths in Balaclava is a collective of 13 young Singaporeans, who are showed their first collection ‘Lost in Transit’ in Paris October 2019. The theme of this critically acclaimed collection is a symbolic interpretation of the disconnect and transition period of a large part of the YIB group is facing, building up their brands whilst fulfilling their National Service obligations in the police force, fire fighters or army. This disruption - fortunately or unfortunately - was also the genesis for ideas and a different lens on politics and society, of which Lost in Transit is a material manifestation of the alternate, cynical perspective.
