A new generation of streetwear emerges in the alternate universe of Gosha Rubchinskiy, who founded his eponymous brand in 2008. The Russian designer’s skate culture-inspired men’s ready-to-wear line recalls 1980s sub-cultures and Soviet-era street style while establishing its own powerfully contemporary aesthetic. Classic crewneck t-shirts and sweatshirts come emblazoned with logo prints in Cyrillic and Mandarin. Gosha Rubchinskiy is part of the COMME des GARCONS empire, as all collections are produced by the Japanese company. Although his break-thru came with fashion, he doesn’t sees himself as a fashion designer, as he is working on different art / photography projects as well, the fashion line is just a small part of the bigger picture.
